Terms of use

These terms apply to your use of BioGein, provided by Geinforce Technology Private Limited ("Geinforce", "we", "us"). By signing in or using BioGein you agree to them. If you use BioGein on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you may accept these terms for it.

Your account

You can create an account with a valid email address that you control, which we confirm with an emailed code. Give accurate details, keep your password confidential and tell us promptly if you believe your account has been used without your permission. You are responsible for activity under your account.

Your content and your figures

You keep all rights in the instructions, documents and images you provide and in the figures you create with BioGein. You give us permission to store and process that content only as needed to provide the service to you, as described in the privacy policy.

Only provide content that you have the right to use. Do not attach documents or images if you are not allowed to share them with a service such as BioGein, for example confidential manuscripts under an agreement that forbids it.

Design agent output

The design agent builds figures from your instructions using the BioGein editor and its asset library. You are responsible for reviewing every figure before you use it, including its scientific accuracy, labels, data and compliance with the requirements of the journal, publisher or institution you submit it to. Journal requirements differ and change; BioGein provides sizes, resolutions and formats that match common requirements, but acceptance of a figure is decided by the publisher.

Icons, assets and shapes

The icons, scientific assets and shapes in BioGein are original works created and owned by Geinforce. While your account is active you may use them, as they are or modified, in figures you create with BioGein, and you may publish and distribute those figures anywhere, including journal articles, graphical abstracts, posters, presentations, theses, grant applications, teaching material and commercial communications, without attribution. This permission continues for figures you created while your account was active.

You may not extract the icons, assets or shapes from BioGein to sell, share or publish them as a standalone collection, or use them to build a competing icon library or illustration service.

Plans, credits and payments

• Every account can use the editor, templates and icons for free and receives 250 welcome credits for the design agent. Free accounts can export 5 figures a month.
• Design-agent work uses credits, charged from the actual size of each request. Your balance is shown in the editor before and after each request.
• Monthly plans give a set number of credits for a 30-day period, paid in advance. Plans do not renew automatically, and plan credits that are not used by the end of the period expire.
• Credit packs add credits that do not expire while your account is active. Plan credits are used before pack credits.
• Any purchase removes the monthly export limit. Your first purchase includes bonus credits as shown at checkout.
• Prices are in Indian rupees (INR) and include applicable taxes. Prices and credit amounts are shown on the pricing page and may change; a change never affects a purchase you have already made.
• Payments are processed securely by our payment partner. Cancellations and refunds follow the refund and cancellation policy, and delivery is described in the shipping and delivery policy.
• Credits have no cash value, cannot be transferred to another account and are not refundable except as the refund policy allows.

Acceptable use

• Do not use BioGein to create content that is unlawful, misleading or infringes the rights of others.
• Do not try to gain unauthorised access to BioGein, other accounts or our systems, or disrupt the service.
• Do not use automated means to extract the asset or icon library, or to place excessive load on the service.
• Do not resell or provide BioGein to others without our written agreement.

Our rights

BioGein, including its software, design, icons, asset library and documentation, belongs to Geinforce and its licensors. These terms give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use BioGein while your account is active.

Availability and changes

We work to keep BioGein available and your figures safe, but the service is provided as it is and may occasionally be interrupted for maintenance or for reasons outside our control. We may change or improve features. Keep your own copies of important figures using the export and "Save to file" options.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Geinforce is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of data, revenue or opportunity, arising from your use of BioGein. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Suspension and closing your account

We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms or puts the service or other users at risk. You can ask us to close your account at any time through the contact page.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to applicable consumer protection law, the courts at Pune, Maharashtra have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will change the date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, tell you in the product before they take effect.
